Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Alvez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Griifin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alvez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Griifin is trying to control the position but Alvez postures up.

Griifin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Alvez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Griifin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Alvez is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Griifin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Alvez's back instead.

Griifin isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Alvez stacks Griifin on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Alvez!
