The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ricketts throws a body kick that misses.
Whelan clobbers Ricketts with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

and Whelan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ricketts swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Whelan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ricketts feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Whelans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Whelan will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ricketts uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Whelan.
Ricketts swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Whelan counters with a right hand to the body.

and Whelan counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Ricketts is rocked!

Whelan steps in with a hook that catches Ricketts right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Whelan follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Ricketts looks absolutely devastated.
