The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie Jr misses with a takedown attempt - Sheas sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Sheas looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Sheas looks to land a body kick but Gracie Jr moved away.
Sheas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gracie Jr shoots in looking for a takedown. Sheas tries to sprawl out of it but Gracie Jr keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sheas manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Cale Sheas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matheus Gracie Jr.
Gracie Jr sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Sheas looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Gracie Jr tries to free his leg and advance position but Sheas is retaining full guard.
Sheas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie Jr on the ground.
Gracie Jr advances to half guard.

Gracie Jr is looking for a kimura but Sheas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie Jr to get the leverage.

Gracie Jr is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Sheas tries to roll over but Gracie Jr keeps him under control.

Sheas lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
