The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lapik changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Danny Mera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mera shoots in looking for a takedown but Lapik manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mera's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Lapik throws a push kick but Mera slaps the foot to one side.

and Lapik counters with a two punch combo.
Mera fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lapik, pushing him back against the cage.
Mera lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Mera lands a damaging elbow.
Mera scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Lapik wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mera lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Mera has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Lapik is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Mera lands with a light punch inside.
A nice right hand lands inside from Mera.
Mera lands a left hand that snaps the head of Lapik backwards.
Lapik is rocked!
Mera pushes Lapik back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Oh Lapik is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mera lands a left hand.
Mera dips a shoulder and cracks Lapik with a mighty uppercut! Lapik falls back against the cage and Mera unloads with a barrage of strikes! Lapik is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Mera screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:01 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Danny Mera!
