PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pauly Coal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Carlos Carter!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coal fails to land the takedown.
Carlos Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Coal keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Coal counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Coal trying to control the action but Carter is working from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Coal working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Carter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Carter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coal is trying to control Carter's posture but Carter avoids it.

Coal manages to work his way to half guard, despite Carter's best efforts.

Carter looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Coal with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Coal gets caught flat footed, as Carter shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Coal is on top in guard.

Coal drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Carter dives on top into guard.

Well Carter has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
