Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Radness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jose Aldo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Justin Radness!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Radness connects with a body shot that sends Aldo's belly button to the back.
Aldo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Radness.
Aldo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Radness counters with a straight right hand.
Radness fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Radness misses with a wild body shot.
Aldo falls off balance throwing a combination
and Aldo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Aldo takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Aldo scores with a one two! Radness had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Radness lands a head kick!
Radness tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Aldo was well out of range. Poor timing from Radness.
Radness misses with a looping right.
Radness misses the shot to the body.
Aldo throws a combination that misses
and Radness counters with a good low kick that Aldo was not able to check.
Radness throws a body punch but Aldo moves out of range.

Radness fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Aldo looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Radness counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Radness.

Radness gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Aldo regains guard.
Aldo keeping moving, preventing Radness from controlling successfully.
Radness stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aldo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Radness loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Radness postures up in Aldo's guard and throws a big left but Aldo blocks it.

Radness is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Aldo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Aldo has escaped and now he's on top!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Radness has his foot on Aldo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Aldo works his way back into a safe position though.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Radness working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aldo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Aldo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Radness is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Aldo defends well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Radness is looking to improve his position.

Radness is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Aldo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Aldo's back!

Radness looking to hold on to the position here but Aldo rolls and ends up regaining guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Radness passes Aldo's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Radness stalling away here and it's allowed Aldo to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Radness advances position into side control!
Aldo is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Justin Radness showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Radness gets a clinch.
Radness lands a right hand.

Aldo is fighting off a takedown attempt but Radness is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Aldo to the mat. Aldo regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Radness must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Radness works his way into full mount!
Radness takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Radness lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Radness wants to control the pace but Aldo is squirming around nicely.
Radness might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Aldo kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
A nice elbow there by Radness.

Radness is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Aldo to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Aldo shrugs it off.

Radness pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Radness looking to control and managing it successfully.

Radness connects with a nice looking jab.
Radness cracks a nice hook into Aldo's ribs.
Radness fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Aldo on the side of the head.
Radness dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Radness scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Radness's jab looks to have found its range, popping Aldo under the eye.

Radness rushes Aldo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Justin Radness is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Radness is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well Radness has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
