Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Finny Gussa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pepe LePew (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Finny Gussa has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Finny Gussa!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pepe LePew!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gussa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming LePew to the mat! LePew manages to get full guard.
LePew preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
LePew bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gussa's guard.
LePew pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gussa is keeping the position for now.
LePew wants to control from the top but Gussa keeps moving.
LePew trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Gussa wants to get back to his feet but LePew is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
LePew stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gussa swivels though and keeps the full guard.
LePew throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

LePew working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

LePew tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no LePew has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

LePew goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Gussa rolls with the submission and now he's on top in LePew's guard! Nice work there by Gussa!

Gussa postures up.
Gussa trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Gussa stands up over LePew, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

LePew has his foot on Gussa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gussa works his way back into a safe position though.
Gussa postures up in LePew's guard and throws a big left but LePew blocks it.
LePew avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Gussa postures up and lands a big shot to LePew's brow.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

LePew lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gussa!
LePew fails to move to back control.

LePew with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

LePew thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Gussa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gussa tries to get out of the position.
LePew connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
LePew sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Gussa wants to get back to his feet.
LePew has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
LePew throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Gussa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for LePew on the ground.

LePew jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gussa is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gussa and LePew has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

LePew tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
LePew wants to control but Gussa is keeping him busy.
LePew lands a decent elbow from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pepe LePew dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



LePew gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

LePew escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gussa gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gussa postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gussa lands a couple of elbows.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gussa's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Gussa throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as LePew works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Gussa got a little sloppy there for a moment and LePew has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gussa has managed to get both his arms back between LePew's legs - danger averted.

LePew has his feet on Gussa's thighs here. He's pushed Gussa off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Gussa screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
