Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fedor Emelianenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksei Cop!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Igor Prikhodko and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Emelianenko darts in trying to clinch
and Cop cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Cop decides to pull guard.

Cop looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Emelianenko has picked Cop up and slammed him! Cop can't keep hold of the triangle and Emelianenko manages to pass to side control!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Emelianenko working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Cop fails with the takedown

and Emelianenko counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cop won't be happy with that.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A close second round but Aleksei Cop will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Emelianenko fails with the takedown

Cop in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Cop is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Cop is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Emelianenko is just riding it out for now. Cop eventually gives up the hold.

Aleksei Cop comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Cop has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
