Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danny Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Power has chosen Withstand The Fall of Time - Immortal as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Harper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Power!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Harper shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Harper showed some decent athleticism there.
Harper drops an elbow to the side of Power's head.

Harper looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Power is trying to maintain the position but Harper is very close to passing his half guard.
Harper throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Power trying to hold on to Harper's head to control him but Harper postures up.
Power is looking for a sweep. Harper is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Harper seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Harper is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Harper wants to work for an arm triangle but Power is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Harper is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Power gets full guard.
Power wants to stand and escape but Harper is having none of it.
Harper has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Power looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Harper throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Harper misses the shot to the body.
Power cracks Harper with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Max Power seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harper shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Power pinned against the cage. Power gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Max Power is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Power throws a series of punches but Harper avoids them all with ease.
Power throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Power throws a sloppy head kick and Harper moves out of range easily.
Power wants to clinch up but Harper keeps it at a distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Harper clinches with his opponent.
Power looking to throw knees to the head but Harper is blocking nicely.
Power throws a knee to the head but misses.
Power tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Harper wants to get back to striking at distance but Power won't allow it.
Power tries to stall but Harper uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Harper is trying to break the clinch but Power has him pressed against the cage.
Power using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Harper has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Harper fails to pull guard.
Power looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Harper wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Harper avoiding damage.
Power is trying to maintain a safe position but Harper gets an underhook and turns Power into the cage.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Power.
Power lands an elbow inside.
Power lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Power with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Power looks gassed!
Harper fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Danny Harper. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Power breaks from the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Power throws a head kick that Harper semi-blocks.
Power tries to clinch there but Harper circles away.
Power fails in his attempt to clinch.
Harper tries for a takedown but Power sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Power wants to clinch but Harper slips to the side

and Harper counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Harper tries to stand but Power is controlling from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Harper won't allow Power to sweep him here.
Harper forces his way into half guard.
Harper trying to mount his opponent but Power defends it.
Power is pressing down on Harper's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Power controls Harper momentarily but Harper frees himself.
Harper advances position into side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Harper dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Power moves out of range as Harper strikes.
Power tries to clinch up but Harper circles away and keeps his distance.
Power moves in looking to clinch but Harper pushes him off.
Harper doesn't manage to clinch there - Power circles away.
Power throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Harper darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Power tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Harper not doing much here.
Harper passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Power!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harper working Power over with strikes here.
Power slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Power wants to control but Harper passes into side.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Power is breathing heavily.
Power is looking to reverse the position.

Harper is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Power knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Harper scores with punches from side control.
Harper working away.
Harper scoring with punches and elbows.
Power tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Harper wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Harper lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Harper wants to control but Power is keeping him busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Harper taking a breather here.
Power is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Harper has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Harper thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Harper is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Power has escaped the position, nice work there.
Power is trying to control Harper's posture but Harper avoids it.
Power is looking for a sweep.
Power regains half guard.
Power is trying to stand.
Harper frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Power tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Power wants to get back to his feet.
Harper trying to control but Power is having none of it.
Harper sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Power wants to control but Harper is having none of it.
Power is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Power wants to hold on but Harper pushes him away.
Power working to try and regain half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Power is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Harper goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Power turns into him and now he's in Harper's guard.
Power must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Power trying to control but Harper is working from the bottom.

Power gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Power darts in trying to clinch
and Harper makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danny Harper dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

and Harper counters with a leg kick.

Power is looking for a sweep. Harper is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Harper wants to take a breather but Power is having none of it.
Harper works his foot free and advances to mount.
Harper looking to control but Power is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Harper wants to finish this one by submission but Power is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Harper.
Danny Harper overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Harper cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Power is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Power is squirming around, avoiding Harper's attempts to control the action.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Power is desperately trying to improve his position but Harper has a good base and remains in mount.

Harper jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Power manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Power manages to work his way to half guard, despite Harper's best efforts.
Power is trying to maintain the position but Harper is very close to passing his half guard.
Power is not content to let Harper control the position.
Harper works his way into side control.

Harper is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Power looks calm but he's in trouble here. Harper gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Power is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Harper lets go of the hold and Power can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Danny Harper!
