Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Henk De Vries (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and licht gewicht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Henk De Vries!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, licht gewicht!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Vries stuffs the takedown.
gewicht will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
De Vries tries a head kick but it misses.
Horrible takedown by gewicht or perhaps it was just good defense by De Vries which made him look bad.
Henk De Vries has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of licht gewicht.
gewicht shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
gewicht shoots in but De Vries avoids the takedown attempt easily.

De Vries closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - De Vries lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

De Vries works a leg free and moves into half guard.
gewicht is refusing to be controlled, as De Vries sits in half guard.
It looks like De Vries is going to stand back up.

De Vries is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
gewicht is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of De Vries's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take De Vries's back!

De Vries is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if gewicht gets his way!

De Vries is looking to improve his position but gewicht isn't that keen on the idea.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from gewicht.
De Vries shoots in for a double leg but gewicht sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
