Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Samoa Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chester Carlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlson has chosen bouncing souls - olé as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chester Carlson!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Carlson.
Joe looks for a takedown but Carlson sprawls well.
Joe takes a kick to the side of the head.


It looks like Samoa Joe has been cut.
Carlson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Joe was well out of range. Poor timing from Carlson.
Joe uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Carlson.
Carlson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Carlson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Joe under the eye.

Carlson lands with a shot to the body.
Carlson stuffs the takedown.
Carlson throws a leg kick which misses Joe's front leg but catches the back leg as Joe tries to avoid it.
Joe with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Carlson to score with a decent uppercut.
Carlson throws a sloppy head kick and Joe moves out of range easily.

Carlson cracks the inside of Joe's front leg.
Carlson goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Chester Carlson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Joe shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Carlson defends it nicely.

Joe fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carlson avoids it really well and circles away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Joe closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Joe lands in his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joe postures up in Carlson's guard and throws a big left but Carlson blocks it.
Carlson is looking to stand up but Joe isn't so interested in that idea.
Joe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Joe drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Carlson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Joe has Carlson in his guard.

Joe is looking for a triangle but Carlson pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samoa Joe is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Joe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Carlson lands with a thumping leg kick.
Carlson cracks Joe with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Carlson throws a head kick but Joe moves out of range.
Carlson lands a slapping body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Carlson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chester Carlson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Joe on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Carlson. Carlson obviously looking to wear him down.

Joe shoots for a takedown but Carlson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Joe shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Carlson jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Carlson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Carlson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Samoa Joe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Joe takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.


Samoa Joe's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Carlson lands a big head kick that sends Joe tumbling to the mat! Carlson takes a step backwards and waves Joe back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Joe is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Joe is trying hard to land a takedown here. Carlson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Carlson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Carlson tests Joe's chin there with a solid looking shot.


Jeez, Samoa Joe's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Carlson looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Carlson backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Joe's temple! It sends Joe violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Carlson celebrates and the doctors try to help Joe!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Chester Carlson!
