Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Larissa Carolina!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Frazer Claydon!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Claydon throws an off balance right hand
and Carolina counters with a takedown into side control.
Carolina working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Claydon bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Carolina just misses with a punch to the body.
Claydon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Claydon wants it to stay on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Claydon cracks Carolina with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Claydon has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Carolina to stand back up!
Carolina is rocked!
Claydon throws a right hand that misses
and Carolina counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Carolina drops back, looking for a kneebar! Claydon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Claydon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Claydon!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Claydon decides to stand up, so the ref orders Carolina to his feet.
Carolina throws a right and a left that Claydon avoids nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Claydon misses with an uppercut
and Carolina counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Claydon throws a poor cross that misses
and Carolina counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Claydon rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Carolina counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Carolina makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Claydon working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Carolina.
Carolina throwing strikes from guard but Claydon blocks nicely.

Claydon has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

and Carolina counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Claydon thinking.
Claydon rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
letting Carolina counter with a right hand.
Carolina tries for a takedown but Claydon circles away easily
and Claydon counters with a crisp right hand that drops Carolina! Claydon lets Carolina back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Oh Carolina is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Carolina scores with a three punch combo!
Carolina seems to have got his legs back now.
Claydon misses with a left hand
and Carolina counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Claydon thinking.
Carolina misses with a right hand
and Claydon counters with a nice body shot.
Carolina is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Carolina fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Larissa Carolina will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A head kick by Carolina misses
and Claydon counters with a huge right that knocks Carolina out cold! Claydon is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
