The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polopero shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Almeida could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

and Polopero decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Almeida's guard.
Polopero is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Almeida is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Almeida has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Polopero defend it? Almeida steps over the head and cranks it - Polopero is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Almeida!
