Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bob Jam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Savelyevich Onopko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jam's entrance music is Transylvania. A fine choice. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bob Jam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Viktor Savelyevich Onopko!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Onopko misses with a jab to the body
and Jam counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Onopko throws an off balance right hand
and Jam counters with a nice uppercut.
Onopko misses with a double jab
letting Jam counter with a right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Onopko throws a combination that misses
and Jam connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Onopko swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Jam counters with a straight right hand.
Onopko stuffs the takedown.
Viktor Savelyevich Onopko is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Onopko misses with a few strikes there.
Onopko lands a jab to Jam's midsection.

Jam shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Onopko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Onopko throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Jam counters with a takedown into side control.
Jam is looking to take a break and control but Onopko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Jam tries to move to mount but Onopko blocks the move with his legs.

Jam just content to control the position.
What's Onopko going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Jam trying to control the position but Onopko is working away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jam fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Onopko avoids it really well and circles away.
Onopko throws a right and a left that Jam avoids nicely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jam closes the distance and clinches up with Onopko, looking for a takedown. Jam pushes Onopko against the cage but Onopko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Onopko looks to land a combination but Jam avoids it well.
Jam takes a body punch but keeps moving.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Onopko just misses with a punch to the body.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jam is defended easily by Onopko.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Jam. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Jam decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Onopko's guard.
Jam not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Jam trying to control but Onopko is working from the bottom.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Onopko is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jam tries to free his leg and advance position but Onopko is retaining full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Bob Jam.
Jam goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Onopko is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jam.
Onopko swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
letting Jam counter with a right hand.
Onopko scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Onopko throws a right hand that Jam ducks under and follows up with a left that Jam also avoids with ease.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Viktor Savelyevich Onopko will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Jam's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Jam misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Onopko throws a combination that misses
and Jam counters with a nice kick to the body.
Jam looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Onopko will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Onopko lands a body shot.
Onopko misses with a few strikes there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jam tries for a takedown but Onopko circles away easily
and Onopko counters with a left and a right that stings Jam.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bob Jam. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Onopko displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jam.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Onopko stalks Jam and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jam's face. Jam staggers backwards, shaken.
Jam doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Onopko cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Onopko misses the body punch

and Jam counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Onopko's guard now.
Onopko has his hands on Jam's head, controlling the position.
Onopko looking for a sweep. Not yet Onopko, not yet.
Jam throwing strikes from guard but Onopko blocks nicely.
Jam wants to pass the guard but Onopko is keeping the position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Viktor Savelyevich Onopko comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Onopko has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
