Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benito Camelas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Millit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Millit has chosen The Cool Kids - I'm Mikey as his entrance music. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Millit!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Steve Montenegro and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Camelas gets tackled into the cage by Millit. Millit maintains the clinch.
Millit is working Camelas over against the cage.
Millit lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Camelas fails to pull guard.
Camelas looking to stall.
Maybe Camelas would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.
Millit is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Camelas has had enough of the clinch but Millit keeps him there for the moment.
A right handed body shot lands from Millit.

Millit lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Camelas is looking for a sweep. Millit is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Millit really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Camelas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Millit looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Millit lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Camelas is trying to maintain the position but Millit is very close to passing his half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Millit escapes and gets back to his feet.
Millit lands a nice hook to Camelas's body. Camelas takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Camelas is breathing heavily.
Nice uppercut lands for Millit. That snapped Camelas's head back.
Millit misses with a body kick.
Camelas tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Millit counters with a left to the body.

Camelas has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.


It looks like Benito Camelas has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Millit lands a nice looking kick to the body. Camelas takes a step back to recover.
Millit feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Camelas's calf.

Millit lands a nice shot that snaps Camelas's head back.
Millit throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
That kick from Millit tenderised Camelas's leg. Camelas is trying to keep his angry face on.
Good leg kick by Millit there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Millit throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Camelas has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Millit.

Millit moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Both fighters circling a little - Millit finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Millit moves into the clinch successfully.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Millit shoots in and bounces Camelas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Millit stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Camelas swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Camelas tries for a takedown but Millit circles away easily
and Millit counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

and Millit counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Millit lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Millit shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Millit showed some decent athleticism there.

Millit is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Millit perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Millit not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Camelas wants to control but Millit is keeping busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Camelas won't allow Millit to pass to mount.
Millit is taking a breather. Camelas says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Millit throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Camelas's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Millit connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Camelas scrambles back to his feet.
Nice straight punches there by Millit. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Millit.
Millit fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Camelas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Millit clinches up with Camelas and pushes him back against the cage.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Millit, right into the meat.

Millit throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Millit rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Camelas moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Millit cracks the inside of Camelas's front leg.

Camelas on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Camelas is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Millit moves into range and clinches up with Camelas.
Camelas wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Camelas looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Camelas is fighting off a takedown attempt but Millit is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Camelas to the mat. Camelas regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Millit stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Camelas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Millit is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Millit decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Camelas, up you get!

Millit's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Mike Millit seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Millit pulls guard.
Millit tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Millit lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Camelas!

Millit has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Millit throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Millit has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
