The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fahrted throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Fahrted tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Fahrted tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Horrible takedown by Foster or perhaps it was just good defense by Fahrted which made him look bad.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fahrted looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Foster shoots for a double leg takedown but Fahrted sprawls well. He's pushed Foster's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Fahrted feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Foster darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Foster is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fahrted is just riding it out for now. Foster eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Foster is breathing heavily.
Fahrted is refusing to be controlled, as Foster sits in half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
