Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rucial Marro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricky Zabuza!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marro shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Zabuza decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Marro's guard.
Marro is looking to stand up but Zabuza isn't so interested in that idea.
Zabuza postures up.
Zabuza trying to control the position from guard on top but Marro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Zabuza must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Marro working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Zabuza doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Zabuza manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Zabuza trying to control the position from guard on top but Marro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Marro avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Marro looking for a sweep. Not yet Marro, not yet.
Zabuza trying to control but Marro is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Zabuza throws a series of strikes that have Marro backpedaling.
Marro has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Zabuza lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Marro doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Marro takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Zabuza lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Marro with a poor takedown
and Zabuza counters with a series of strikes. Marro will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rucial Marro. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Marro is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Zabuza drops Marro with a beautiful combination! Marro stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Zabuza is looking for the KO!
Marro is rocked!
Zabuza lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Marro can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Zabuza and Marro drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Zabuza.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ricky Zabuza!
