PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Javier Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and FryMe A Liver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Torres comes to the cage accompanied by airplanes. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A Liver fails with a takedown attempt.
Torres displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from A Liver.
A Liver fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Torres .
A Liver is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Torres rushes A Liver and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Torres decides to pull guard.
Torres is trying to control the position from the bottom.
A Liver controls from within his opponent's guard.
A Liver won't allow Torres to get back to his feet.

A Liver throws a knee to the head but misses.

A Liver stands and steps away. Torres gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Torres tightens his grip and picks A Liver up, before dumping him to the ground. A Liver manages to land in guard.

Torres wants to stand but A Liver has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
A Liver wants to sweep here but Torres controlling him for the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Torres closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A Liver is pulling down on Torres 's head. It's preventing any offense from Torres , at least for the moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now A Liver is on top in guard.

A Liver drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and A Liver jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
A Liver wants to pass the guard but Torres is keeping the position.

A Liver is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Torres is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Torres has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A Liver is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Torres makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Torres .

A Liver is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Torres has escaped the position, nice work there.
Torres is not content to let A Liver control the position.
A Liver advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Javier Torres will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

A Liver shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Torres 's guard.

Let's hope that A Liver has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
