The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a lunging right hand
and Sosa counters with a straight right hand.

It looks like Wanderlei Silva has been cut.
Silva misses with a hook. Sosa ducked under it nicely.
Sosa lands a nice hook to Silva's body. Silva takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Nice defenses there by Silva.
Silva misses with an uppercut
and Sosa counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sosa dips to his left and cracks Silva with an uppercut!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sosa throws out a loose jab but Silva uses good head movement to avoid it.
Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Sosa counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A punch lands to the side of Silva 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Silva closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sosa quickly recovers to half guard.
Silva thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Sosa to regain full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Silva throwing strikes from guard but Sosa blocks nicely.
Sosa pulls Silva in close to his closed guard and prevents Silva from doing any damage or advancing position.
Silva prevents Sosa from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Sosa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Silva has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Sosa has control of Silva's left arm, preventing Silva from doing any damage.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Alejandro Sosa was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Sosa makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Sosa counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Wanderlei Silva's cut is getting worse.
Silva walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Alejandro Sosa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sosa counters with a left to the body.
Silva is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sosa swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Silva.

Silva is rocked!
Sosa scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Silva doesn't seem bothered though.
Sosa looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well.

Silva takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Sosa dips to his left and cracks Silva with an uppercut!
Oh Silva is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Wanderlei Silva's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Sosa fakes the body blow, causing Silva to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Silva goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
