Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Akaboshi Aida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danilo Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aida comes to the cage accompanied by Iggy Pop - The Passenger. Santos has chosen CXA - Contos do Crime as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aida gets a clinch.
Santos swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Aida has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Santos avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Aida is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Santos gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Santos wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Santos prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Akaboshi Aida. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Santos wants to break free but Aida has control.
Aida has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Santos is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Santos is trying to force a seperation but Aida has the dominant position.
Santos wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Aida has him pressed against the cage.
Santos has had enough of the clinch but Aida keeps him there for the moment.
Santos with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Aida has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Santos is trying to keep an underhook but Aida manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Still in half guard, Aida seems content to control.
Aida uses his free foot to push down on Santos's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Santos.

Aida is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Santos can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aida cracks Santos with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Santos is looking to improve his position but Aida isn't that keen on the idea.

Aida has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Santos is forced to tap!
