Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tim Howe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Glen Knox!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox moves into range and connects with a jab.
Knox jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Howe throws a leg kick but Knox checks it.
Howe dodges the punch combination from Knox.
Howe shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Knox sprawls well. Knox wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Howe gets slowly back to his feet.
Howe blocks a jab.
Knox lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Howe circles away quickly and effectively.
Howe fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Knox avoids it really well and circles away.
Howe wants to clinch.
Howe slips a jab and a cross from Knox.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knox just misses with a punch to the body.
Knox goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Howe throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.


It looks like Glen Knox has been cut.
Howe throws a series of punches but Knox avoids them all with ease.

Howe moves away from the strike by Knox.
Howe will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Knox pushes Howe off and gets back to his feet.

Knox jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

A nice inside leg kick there by Knox. That's going to slow Howe down.
The crowd cheers as Howe lands an impressive looking overhand right. Knox doesn't seem phased though.

Howe stands up and we're back to a striking position.
An inside leg kick lands from Howe.
Knox lands the left hand.
Knox throws a lazy right hand but Howe sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Knox cracks Howe with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Glen Knox is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
A looping hook to the body misses from Knox. Howe does a little dance to reset his feet.

Howe fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Knox avoids it really well and circles away.
Knox rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Howe moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Knox wants to get back to striking at distance but Howe won't allow it.

Howe is trying to drag Knox to the mat but Knox just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Knox misses with a knee to the head.
Knox wants to get back to striking at distance but Howe won't allow it.
Howe is trying to break the clinch but Knox has him pressed against the cage.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Knox misses with a double jab

and Howe counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Knox!
Knox is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Howe is working for a guillotine from mount but Knox frees his head quite easily.
Howe throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Knox because Howe loaded up on that one.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poor strikes thrown by Howe there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Knox bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Howe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Howe wants to stand but Knox has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Knox has his hands clasped together around Howe's back. He's all about the action.

Knox throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Howe connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Knox momentarily.

Knox is looking to control Howe's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Knox avoid being mounted?
Howe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Howe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Knox does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Knox feints and then cracks Howe's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Howe down.
Howe throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Knox.
Knox works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

and Knox counters with a three punch combo that has Howe backing up. Howe nods at Knox to acknowledge the strikes.
Howe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Knox pinned against the cage. Knox gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
A decent looking cross lands there for Knox.
Knox fails to land with a series of punches.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Knox is trying to push Howe away but Howe has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Knox breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Knox throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Howe fails in his attempt to clinch.
Howe tries to score a power double leg takedown but Knox sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Howe somewhat.

Knox lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Howe backs up against the cage.
Knox pivots, looking for a leg kick but Howe is out of range and Knox settles back down.

Howe jumps guard and drags Knox to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Tim Howe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Knox gets to his feet - Howe follows without any prompting.
Howe dives in and grabs Knox's left leg, looking for a takedown. Knox pushes down on Howe's head and hops out.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tim Howe.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Howe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
