Assisi's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, In The Morning. Francis Assisi has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Francis Assisi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Joseph!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Joseph shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Joseph showed some decent athleticism there.
Assisi gets full guard.
Joseph working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Assisi's head.

Assisi is looking for a triangle but Joseph pushes his legs off easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Joseph accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Joseph keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Assisi's head.
Joseph throwing strikes from guard but Assisi blocks nicely.
Assisi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Assisi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Assisi has hold of Joseph's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Joseph manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Assisi wants to control the pace but Joseph is squirming around nicely.
Joseph wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Assisi.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Assisi is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Joseph is surviving well by controlling Assisi's body position as best he can.

Joseph is trying to control but can't.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Anthony Joseph wasn't active enough on the ground.

Joseph shoots in and bounces Assisi off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Joseph is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Assisi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Assisi has his foot on Joseph's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Joseph works his way back into a safe position though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Assisi is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Assisi is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Joseph defends well.

Assisi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Joseph defends it easily.
Joseph with a flurry of punches that miss.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Assisi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Assisi has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Joseph can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Joseph decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Joseph has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Assisi defend it? Joseph steps over the head and cranks it - Assisi is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Joseph!
