The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lice misses with a body kick.
Lice circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kelly scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Kelly misses with an uppercut.
Kelly keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lice slips a jab from Kelly.
Kelly takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Lice ducks under a wild hook from Kelly.
Kelly avoids a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kelly loads up on a big right hand but Lice slips the punch.
Kelly misses with a straight left.

Kelly looks to land a left hand but Lice moved out of range nicely.

Lice misses with an uppercut. Kelly saw that one coming.
Kelly changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lice tries to avoid it but Kelly manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lice to the ground. Lice escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bimbo Lice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Connor Kelly.
Kelly throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lice.
Lice throws a shot to the body.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lice looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kelly tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Lice counters with a nice kick to the body.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Lice.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kelly is defended easily by Lice.

Lice tries to score with a low kick but Kelly moves his leg out of the way.

Lice lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Kelly shoots in for a takedown but Lice shows good takedown defense.
Lice feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kelly's calf.
Lice avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Kelly throws a hook but Lice blocks it.
Kelly shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lice pinned against the cage. Lice gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kelly doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Lice counters with a good low kick that Kelly was not able to check.
Kelly throws a sloppy body shot
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Kelly fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lice avoids it really well and circles away.
Bimbo Lice has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Connor Kelly.

and Lice counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Lice wants to clinch up but Kelly keeps it at a distance.
Horrible takedown by Kelly or perhaps it was just good defense by Lice which made him look bad.
Kelly stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lice.
Lice throws a low kick but Kelly moves out of range easily.
Kelly tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lice sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kelly somewhat.
Lice tries to move into range but Kelly moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Kelly avoids a kick to the body.
Lice leaves Kelly with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A slow jab from Kelly misses its intended target.
Kelly tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lice sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kelly somewhat.
Kelly walks into a stiff left hand from Lice.
Kelly is trying desperately to land a takedown but Lice is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Kelly.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kelly might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Lice misses with a body kick.
Kelly gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kelly takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kelly is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lice.
Kelly throws a good cross that connects.
A jab from Lice does it's job there.
Kelly is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lice sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Lice pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Kelly misses with a leg kick
and Lice counters with a two punch combo.
Kelly throws out a powerful jab.
Lice throws a push kick but Kelly slaps the foot to one side.

Kelly gets the takedown into side control.
Lice pushes Kelly away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Kelly gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Kelly tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Kelly wants to control but Lice is keeping him busy.

Kelly tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kelly has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Lice stops Kelly from passing to mount.

Kelly is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lice is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kelly is trying to get an arm triangle but Lice is defending well.
Lice manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Lice working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Kelly's thigh. Kelly counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Bimbo Lice is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kelly manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lice manages to get himself to full guard.
Connor Kelly has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kelly wants to pass the guard but Lice is keeping the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kelly is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
