Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dick Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dick Burns has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Dick Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Miller!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Steve Montenegro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller wants to clinch up but Burns keeps it at a distance.
Nice sprawl there from Miller as Burns shoots in.
Burns throws out a leg kick but Miller moves out of range and Burns only half commits.

Miller has managed to clinch.
Miller lands a nice elbow.
Burns looking for a takedown.
A short body shot lands from Miller as the two fighters clinch.
Miller lands a knee to the body.
Miller throws a knee to the head but misses.

Burns drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Miller gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Miller throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Burns counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Burns avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Miller controls Burns momentarily but Burns frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dick Burns will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Burns throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Miller's waist but Miller gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Burns off to one side.

Miller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Burns tries to avoid it but Miller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Burns to the ground. Burns escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Burns will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Burns is controlling an arm, preventing Miller from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Burns manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Miller frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
