The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Willard tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Bashkin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Willard controls Bashkin momentarily but Bashkin frees himself.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Willard wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Bashkin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Willard tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bashkin is in Willard's guard.

Bashkin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Willard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Bashkin has Willard in his guard.

Oh but Bashkin is tightening it up a little... Willard has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Willard reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Willard taps out! nice BJJ there by Bashkin!
