The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
donaire has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Davis finds it's way round the side to connect with donaire's head.

Davis lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
donaire tries to close the distance and clinch but Davis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
donaire's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Davis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! donaire scrambles back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well Davis has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
