Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Calloway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Calloway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Calloway changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Calloway trying to control the action but Jackson is working from the bottom.
Calloway advances to full mount.
Jackson tries to reverse the position but Calloway maintains control.
Jackson wants to control but Calloway is having none of it.
Calloway controlling his opponent.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Calloway can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Jackson is looking to escape.
Calloway punching from mount but Jackson doing a good job of avoiding damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jackson is working to get back to half guard.
Calloway avoids the attempt from Jackson to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Calloway wants to control but instead Jackson manages to regain half guard.
Jackson keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Calloway ducks under a wild hook from Jackson.

Jackson instigates a clinch.
A short right from Jackson on the inside.
Calloway tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Calloway misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Jackson makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Calloway tries to score a body lock takedown but Jackson shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Jackson prevents the takedown attempt.
Calloway tries to circle away but Jackson has him pinned against the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Jackson.
Jackson working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Calloway tries to land knees in the clinch but Jackson avoids the damage to the body.

Jackson pulls Calloway into guard.
Calloway pushes down on Jackson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Jackson tries to kick Calloway off but Calloway keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Calloway trying to control from Jackson's half guard. Jackson has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Calloway slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Calloway throws and elbow that misses. Jackson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Calloway's guard. Nice move by Jackson!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Chris Jackson will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Jackson loads up on a big right hand but Calloway slips the punch.

Calloway shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Calloway sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Calloway throwing strikes here but Jackson is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Calloway tries to control but Jackson wriggling away.
Jackson wants to hold on but Calloway pushes him away.

Jackson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Calloway goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jackson turns into him and now he's in Calloway's guard.
Calloway looking for a sweep. Not yet Calloway, not yet.
Calloway trying to control the position here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Jackson stands and steps away. Calloway gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Calloway takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Jackson throws a nice looking combination but Calloway bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

so Calloway counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Jackson keeping moving, preventing Calloway from controlling successfully.

Jackson keeping full guard, as Calloway tries to pass.
Calloway trying to control but Jackson is working from the bottom.

We're going to have a standup here because Mark Calloway wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Calloway shoots in looking for a takedown but Jackson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Calloway's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Chris Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jackson gets a clinch.
A short uppercut from Jackson.
Jackson keeps control of Calloway as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Jackson jumps into guard, dragging Calloway to the mat.

Jackson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Calloway is aware though and is defending well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Calloway wants to stand but Jackson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Calloway controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Jackson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Calloway passes Jackson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Calloway dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Calloway slips under a jab.
Jackson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jackson stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Calloway blocks a jab.
Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for Calloway on that attempt.
Jackson feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Calloways jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Calloway ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jackson throws a series of punches but Calloway moves out of range.
Jackson throws a left and a right that both miss

and Calloway counters with a single leg into guard. Jackson didn't expect that.
Calloway has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jackson is proving hard to escape from.

Calloway gets to his feet. Jackson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Calloway moves forwards but Jackson connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Calloway gets tackled into the cage by Jackson. Jackson maintains the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Calloway can't get the takedown.

Jackson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Calloway wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Jackson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Calloway throws a strike but Jackson rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Jackson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jackson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Calloway wants to sweep here but Jackson controlling him for the moment.
Calloway keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully.
Calloway throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Jackson stops Calloway from standing up.
Calloway pulls Jackson in close to prevent any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jackson showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mark Calloway wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Jackson lands with a nice body punch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jackson makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Jackson prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Calloway. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jackson misses with a punch on the inside.
Jackson lands a right hand that snaps the head of Calloway backwards.
Jackson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Jackson softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Calloway fails to pull guard.
Jackson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Jackson lands a shoulder strike.

Jackson pulls Calloway into guard.

Chris Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jackson has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
