Man is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Prodigy 'Invaders Must Die' . Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Wesson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eks Man!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Man misses with a hook
and Wesson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Wesson throws a right hand that misses

and Man counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Man sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Wesson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Man.
Man is taking a breather. Wesson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Man is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Wesson is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Wesson blocking the ground and pound.

Man controlling the position easily from mount.
Man thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Man controlling the pace for now.

Wesson somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Wesson thows a body shot but no joy.
Man circles away from the clinch attempt
and Man counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Man closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wesson to the mat! Wesson manages to get full guard.
Man looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Wesson wants to sweep here but Man controlling him for the moment.
Man stays in close to Wesson's body and controls the position.
Man tries to free his leg and advance position but Wesson is retaining full guard.

Man slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Eks Man hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Man misses with a hook. Wesson ducked under it nicely.

and Wesson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Man swings away with a body shot that misses
enabling Wesson to counter with a crisp jab.
Wesson throws a one two combo.
Wesson tries to clinch but Man moves out of range.
Man rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Wesson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Wesson scores with a jab. Man acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Man takes a shot to the body in his stride.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wesson misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Man.
Wesson connects with a jab.
Wesson tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Man decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wesson's guard.
Man has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Man wants to control from the top but Wesson keeps moving.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Man is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Wesson will probably get the nod.

and Man decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wesson's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Wesson wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Wesson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Man moves away.
Wesson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Man paws at him with a jab and circles away.
John Wesson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Man throws a body punch but Wesson moves out of range.
Man avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Man throws a right hand that misses
and Wesson counters with a nice body shot.
Wesson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Wesson throws a hook but Man blocks it.
Wesson misses with an uppercut.
Man throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Wesson counters with a left to the body.
Man takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Wesson!

Wesson throws a lazy uppercut

and Man counters with a takedown into side control.
Wesson tries to bench press Man off him but Man keeps the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wesson is not content to let Man control the position.
Wesson is trying to improve his position.
Man is looking to take a break and control but Wesson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Wesson is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Man is controlling him well.
Man wants to control but Wesson is keeping him busy.
Wesson is trying to control Man's posture but Man avoids it.
Wesson is not content to let Man control the position.
Man controlling the position from side mount.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Eks Man.
Man throws an off balance right hand
and Wesson counters with a straight right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Wesson dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Horrible takedown by Man or perhaps it was just good defense by Wesson which made him look bad.
Man takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Wesson throws a hook to the side of Man's head but Man sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Wesson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wesson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Man sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Wesson misses with a looping left.
Man uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Wesson.

Man swings widly with a right hand
and Wesson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Man is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Man is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Good work by Man as he checks the leg kick.
Wesson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Man checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Wesson throws a combination that misses

and Man counters with a single leg into guard. Wesson didn't expect that.

Man engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Man trying to control the position from guard on top but Wesson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Man passes Wesson's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Man trying to control from half guard but Wesson is working away.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wesson wants to hold on but Man pushes him away.
Man controlling from mount.

Wesson is looking to get to half guard.
Man content just to control the position here.
Man can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wesson is looking to escape.
Man throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Man controlling from mount.
Man trying to control but Wesson is having none of it.
John Wesson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Wesson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Man on the ground.
Eks Man has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Wesson.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wesson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
