Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Brashears (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mazaa Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brashears's entrance music is Walk by Pantera. A fine choice. Mazaa Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Silva shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Brashears's guard.
Silva controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Silva slips nicely into half guard.
Silva with the ground and pound but Brashears uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Silva wants to control from the top but Brashears keeps moving.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Brashears can't keep his opponent in guard - Silva advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Brashears knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

Silva is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brashears defends it well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brashears pushes Silva off looking to stand but Silva dives back in and keeps control.

Silva has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Brashears is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Silva yanks on the arm and Brashears is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Silva.
