The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lane throws a big shot that misses.
Malikov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lane but Lane pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lane thows a body shot but no joy.
Lane looks to land a combination but Malikov avoids it well.
A big right from Lane misses.
Lane bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Lane avoids a kick to the body.
Lane throws out a loose jab but Malikov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Malikov closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lane circles away.
Malikov tries for a takedown but Lane sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Billy Lane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Malikov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lane connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Lane changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Malikov is looking to clinch but Lane is avoiding it.
Malikov on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Lane scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Lane rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Malikov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Malikov takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lane throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lane scores with a jab to the jaw.
Malikov fails with a takedown attempt.
Lane scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Malikov looks gassed!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Malikov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Nice body punch from Lane.
Billy Lane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Malikov tries to move into range but Lane moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Lane lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Lane scores with the left hand. Malikov knows he should have avoided that one.
Malikov gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Lane digs a good hook to Malikov's body.

Lane cracks Malikov with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Malikov tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Lane pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Malikov is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
