Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Welsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitriy Brajnik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Welsh uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Welsh lands with a shot to the body.

Brajnik moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Welsh connects with a body shot that sends Brajnik's belly button to the back.

Brajnik takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

No joy there for Welsh, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Welsh shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Brajnik eats them both and turns towards Welsh to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Welsh goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Brajnik shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brajnik showed some decent athleticism there.
Brajnik is trying to control. Welsh wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
