Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Teddy Marks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Anus Saukko!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marks slips a jab and a cross from Saukko.
Saukko circles away from the clinch attempt.
Saukko throws a series of punches but Marks avoids them all with ease.
Saukko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Marks circles away quickly and effectively.
Anus Saukko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Some wild striking there from Saukko.
Marks shoots for a double leg takedown but Saukko sprawls well. He's pushed Marks's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Marks closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Saukko did well to prevent Marks getting side control.
Marks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Marks wants to pass to mount but Saukko is defending the position.
Marks takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Teddy Marks has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Saukko throws a combination that misses

and Marks counters with a shoot takedown. Saukko fights it but they end up in guard.

Marks decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Saukko, up you get!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marks is looking to work some ground and pound but Saukko has wrist control.

Marks is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Saukko has escaped the position, nice work there.

Marks is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Saukko is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Marks is staying tight to Saukko's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Marks throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Marks wants to control but Saukko is keeping him busy.
Marks is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Saukko's shoulder. That is not cool.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Marks's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Saukko stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Saukko wants it to stay on the feet.

Saukko gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Marks wants to control from the top but Saukko keeps moving.
Saukko can't keep his opponent in guard - Marks advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

It looks like Marks is going to stand back up.
Saukko is trying to stand up here but Marks is controlling him well.
Marks throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Marks is trying to control. Saukko wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Marks is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Saukko reverses the position - he's now on top in Marks's guard.
Marks might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Oh Marks is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Marks gets to his feet. Saukko looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Marks seems to have got his legs back now.
Marks shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Saukko fails to land with a series of punches.
Saukko throws a one two combo.
Saukko throws a series of punches but Marks avoids them all with ease.
Marks shoots in for a takedown but Saukko shows good takedown defense.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Teddy Marks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Saukko tries to bum rush Marks with a series of wild strikes but Marks uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

That was a close second round but I would say that Teddy Marks will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Saukko manages to regain half guard whilst avoiding the strikes.
Marks keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Saukko is staying active underneath Marks, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Saukko pushes Marks off looking to stand but Marks dives back in and keeps control.
Marks takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Marks thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Saukko's head.
Saukko is refusing to be controlled, as Marks sits in half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Teddy Marks wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Saukko throws a combination that misses

and Marks holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Saukko escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Saukko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Marks is looking to take a break and control but Saukko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Saukko throws a nice looking combination but Marks bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Marks shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Saukko sprawls well. Saukko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Marks gets slowly back to his feet.

Marks shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Saukko pinned against the cage. Saukko gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Teddy Marks. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Saukko throws a nice looking combination but Marks bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Teddy Marks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Marks shoots in looking for a takedown. Saukko tries to sprawl out of it but Marks keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Saukko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Marks feints and as Saukko raises his hands in defense, Marks changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Saukko really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Saukko is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Marks, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
