Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stan Engrle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Martin!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Engrle tries to clinch
enabling Martin to counter with a crisp jab.
Engrle slips a straight right by Martin.
Martin misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Engrle.
Engrle tries to clinch but Martin moves away
and Martin counters with a big head kick but Engrle shrugs it off.
Engrle throws an off balance right hand

and Martin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Martin is fighting to break Engrle's control of his arms but Engrle is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Martin passes Engrle's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Engrle on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Engrle tries to get out of the position.
Engrle blocking the ground and pound attempt from Martin.
Martin is taking a breather. Engrle says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Martin wants to free his trapped foot but Engrle is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Engrle is staying active underneath Martin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Martin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Engrle's head.
Engrle is holding on to half guard well.
Engrle avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Martin.
Martin moves into full mount! Engrle won't be happy about that!
Martin misses with a head shot.
Martin sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Martin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Martin controlling from the full mount.
Engrle wants to hold on but Martin pushes him away.
Martin postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Engrle looks a forlorn figure.
Martin is in the full mount, landing strikes.


It looks like Stan Engrle has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Martin is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Engrle can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Engrle is in all sorts of trouble here.

Martin looking to secure an arm triangle but Engrle defends it well.
Martin lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Engrle hang on?


Stan Engrle's cut is getting worse.

Martin controlling from mount.
Martin throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Engrle is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Martin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Martin connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martin tries to control but Engrle wriggling away.
Engrle is bucking up trying to escape but Martin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Martin is in the full mount, landing strikes.


Jeez, Stan Engrle's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Stan Engrle's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Frank Martin!
