The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duddy looks to land a body kick but Palhares moved away.
Palhares throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Palhares fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Palhares scores with a shot to the body.
Duddy throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Palhares dodges the punch combination from Duddy.
A big right from Palhares misses.
Palhares thuds a left hand into Duddy's body.
Duddy looks to score with a jab to the body but Palhares is just out of range.
Duddy throws a left and a right that both miss
and Palhares counters with a single leg into guard. Duddy didn't expect that.
Palhares lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Palhares is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Palhares passes into half guard.
Palhares content to control rather than advance.
Palhares seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Duddy for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Palhares in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Duddy tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Palhares!
