PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Ai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luther Heggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ai comes into the arena with Cloud 9 blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heggs wants to clinch
and Ai counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ai fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Heggs checks it well.
Ai misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Ai takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

It looks like Mr Ai has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Heggs with a hook.
Heggs tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Ai counters by moving into the clinch.

Heggs pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ai misses with a leg kick
and Heggs cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Oooooh!!! Heggs has knocked Ai down with a huge combo! Heggs steps away and waves a wobbly Ai back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Ai is rocked!

Mr Ai's cut is getting worse.
Ai lands a nice hook to Heggs's body. Heggs takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Ai keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Heggs.

Heggs takes the fight into the clinch.
Heggs throws a punch but it's blocked by Ai.
Heggs lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Heggs scores with a nice hook to the head.
Ai looking to throw knees to the head but Heggs is blocking nicely.
Heggs misses with the head strike.

Heggs's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ai throws a poor cross that misses
and Heggs connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Heggs throws a jab when Ai was well out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ai tries to clinch up but Heggs circles away and keeps his distance.
Ai throws a lazy head kick
and Heggs counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Ai has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Luther Heggs!
