Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nielsen moves away from the strike by Pych.
Pych falls off balance throwing a combination
and Nielsen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Pych throws a combination that misses
and Nielsen counters with a straight right hand.
Pych misses with a double jab
and Nielsen counters with a stiff right hand.

Nielsen throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Pych tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Nielsen is in Pych's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Simen Nielsen wasn't active enough on the ground.
Pych throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Nielsen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pych wants to stand up but Nielsen is controlling him.
Nielsen slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Nielsen has an Americana. Pych didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Nielsen is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Nielsen hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
