Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Byron Marchand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobo Gazumbos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Bobo Gazumbos was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gazumbos misses with a few strikes there.

Marchand looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Marchand controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Gazumbos can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Marchand controls the pace.

Marchand has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Marchand drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Marchand jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Marchand wants to pass the guard but Gazumbos is keeping the position.

Marchand is looking to work some ground and pound but Gazumbos has wrist control.
Marchand stands and throws Gazumbos's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Marchand creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Marchand in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Gazumbos is letting Marchand control him for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gazumbos is working to avoid the ground and pound but Marchand connects with a decent elbow.
Marchand just content to control the position.
Gazumbos takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Marchand tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marchand has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Gazumbos seems a little lost for a moment, as Marchand dominates the positioning.

Marchand is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gazumbos has escaped the position, nice work there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Marchand works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Gazumbos is trying to escape the position but Marchand is controlling the position.

Marchand working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gazumbos takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Gazumbos seems a little lost for a moment, as Marchand dominates the positioning.
Marchand has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Gazumbos!
Marchand pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Marchand lands a big shot there that rocks Gazumbos but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Gazumbos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marchand. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
BOOM! Marchand connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Marchand lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Gazumbos in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Marchand loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Gazumbos scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Marchand land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Marchand stands and salutes the crowd.
