Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Maimuta Prunea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and TJ Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Maimuta Prunea!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, TJ Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prunea doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Johnson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Johnson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Prunea counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Prunea is looking to stall here but Johnson recovers full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson trying to keep a closed guard but Prunea is proving a slippery customer.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Prunea defends it easily.

Prunea avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Prunea's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Prunea trying to keep a closed guard but Johnson is proving a slippery customer.
Johnson advances to half guard.
Prunea might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Johnson is looking for a kimura here.
Johnson is trying to control the action in half guard but Prunea is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Johnson works his way into full mount!
Prunea is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Johnson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Prunea to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Prunea shrugs it off.

Johnson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Johnson trying to control but Prunea is having none of it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Johnson goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Prunea turns into him and now he's in Johnson's guard.
Prunea knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnson on the ground.

Prunea has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Johnson to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Prunea is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Johnson pulls down on the head and he's put Prunea to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). TJ Johnson!
