Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taruda tries to close the distance and clinch but Lopez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lopez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Lopez makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Miguel Lopez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taruda forces Lopez back against the cage and clinches.
Lopez tries to work over Taruda's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Lopez is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Lopez wants to control but Taruda is having none of it.
Taruda cracks Lopez with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Taruda is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Lopez has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Lopez!

Lopez throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

It looks like Abuda Taruda has been cut.

The crowd cheers as Lopez lands an impressive looking overhand right. Taruda doesn't seem phased though.

Taruda shoots in looking for a takedown. Lopez tries to sprawl out of it but Taruda keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lopez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Lopez gets caught flat footed, as Taruda shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Lopez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lopez has his foot on Taruda's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Taruda works his way back into a safe position though.

Taruda is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lopez moves into full guard.

Taruda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lopez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lopez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Still in half guard, Lopez seems content to control.
Lopez thows a huge punch but Taruda dodges it nicely.
Abuda Taruda overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Well, if Lopez is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Lopez controls Taruda momentarily but Taruda frees himself.
Taruda postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Taruda drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lopez dives on top into guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Abuda Taruda.
I think Taruda has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
