Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gandalf Mithrandir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedrinho Matador (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Pedrinho Matador enters the cage!

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matador shoots in looking for a takedown. Mithrandir tries to sprawl out of it but Matador keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mithrandir manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mithrandir wants to clinch up but Matador keeps it at a distance.

Mithrandir fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Matador, pushing him back against the cage.

Mithrandir's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mithrandir keeps the fight on the outside.
Gandalf Mithrandir seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mithrandir lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

It looks like Pedrinho Matador has been cut.
Matador has a takedown stuffed.
Matador wants to land a leg kick but Mithrandir is out of range.

Mithrandir has taken the fight to the clinch.

Matador is looking to break free of the clinch but Mithrandir has double underhooks.
Matador has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mithrandir is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Gandalf Mithrandir has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pedrinho Matador.

Mithrandir tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Matador counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Mithrandir looks like he's trying to stand up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Matador is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mithrandir doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Matador.

Matador wants to advance to full mount but Mithrandir doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Matador has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mithrandir is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
The referee calls for Mithrandir to work.
Matador fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Matador gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mithrandir to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Oooh a lovely combination from Mithrandir sends Matador down but not out. Mithrandir dives into side control looking to finish.

Matador is looking to get back to his feet here but Mithrandir is keeping cool and he's managed to take Matador's back.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
