The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pavella bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hayes stalks Pavella and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pavella's face. Pavella staggers backwards, shaken.
Pavella slips under a jab.
Pavella with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Hayes to score with a decent uppercut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hayes. Pavella does a little dance to reset his feet.

Pavella tries to clinch up but Hayes circles away and keeps his distance.

Rutherford Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
