Nowak is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. Artur Nowak has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

seregin clinches.
Nowak is breathing heavily.
Nowak gets underhooks to prevent seregin's takedown attempt.

seregin gets control of Nowak's arms and successfully pulls guard. seregin will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
seregin is looking to stand up but Nowak isn't so interested in that idea.
seregin looking for a sweep. Not yet seregin, not yet.

Nowak got a little sloppy there for a moment and seregin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nowak has managed to get both his arms back between seregin's legs - danger averted.
seregin tries to strike from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
seregin tries to lock up and control but Nowak gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
seregin is trying to reverse the position but instead Nowak has taken his back - oops!
seregin is really stuck here.
seregin looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
seregin is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
seregin trying to control the hands but Nowak breaks the grip.
Nowak doesn't have the hooks in and seregin manages to turn into his guard.
seregin wants to control from the top but Nowak keeps moving.

seregin throws a strike but Nowak rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Nowak slips nicely into half guard.
seregin is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Nowak jumps into side control!
seregin is trying to improve his position.
seregin is trying to work for a sweep but Nowak has mounted him!
Nowak controlling the pace for now.

seregin tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Nowak lands a heavy elbow.
seregin is looking to improve his position but Nowak isn't that keen on the idea.
seregin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

seregin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Nowak swivels and escapes.
seregin tries to clinch but Nowak moves out of range.

Nowak regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from seregin.

Nowak bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in seregin's guard.
Nowak is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
seregin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nowak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Nowak postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

seregin throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Nowak escapes and throws seregin's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Nowak has hold of seregin's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! seregin tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Nowak cranks the arm and seregin screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from seregin, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
