The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aitken throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mitchell's waist but Mitchell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aitken off to one side.
Aitken throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Aitken rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mitchell moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Aitken must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mitchell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mitchell tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mitchell has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Aitken manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Aitken wants to improve his position but Mitchell is controlling well.
Aitken moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Aitken looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Mitchell is defending well. Aitken quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Mitchell has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Aitken celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
