The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sobolev tries for a takedown but Pufik circles away easily
enabling Pufik to counter with a crisp jab.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sobolev misses with a takedown attempt
and Pufik connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kolya Pufik has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Maxim Sobolev.

and Sobolev decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pufik's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Sobolev throws a strike but Pufik rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Sobolev escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pufik gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pufik would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Sobolev lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pufik!
Pufik is breathing heavily.
BOOM! Sobolev connects with a massive shot to the dome!

It looks like Kolya Pufik has been cut.
Sobolev cracks Pufik with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
