The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Northrup. Lawrence does a little dance to reset his feet.
Northrup moves out of range of the strikes.

Lawrence feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lawrence knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Northrup on the ground.
Northrup pushing down on Lawrence's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Lawrence on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lawrence tries to get out of the position.
Northrup prevents Lawrence from improving his position.

Northrup is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Lawrence is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Lawrence flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Northrup anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Lawrence and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Northrup slips an arm under Lawrence chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Northrup has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Northrup is squeezing on Lawrence like an anaconda would it's prey. Lawrence fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
