The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Koutras gets a takedown into half guard.
Gump is staying active underneath Koutras, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That was a close round but I would say that Forrest Gump will probably get the nod.

Koutras tries to lock up and control but Gump gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Forrest Gump overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Koutras turns into Gump and is now in his guard.
Koutras wants to control from the top but Gump keeps moving.
Koutras throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gump works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gump wants to sweep but no luck.
Koutras won't allow Gump to get back to his feet.
Gump is trying to control the position but Koutras postures up.
Gump on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Gump tries to get out of the position.

Koutras is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Jacinto Koutras showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gump has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Koutras has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gump is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Koutras is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

I would just about give that final round to Jacinto Koutras.
Well Koutras has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
