The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Siggas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Siggas slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Hayes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Siggas on the ground.

Siggas thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hayes regains half guard there - taking advantage of Siggas's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Hayes is staying active underneath Siggas, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Siggas is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hayes is trying to maintain the position but Siggas is very close to passing his half guard.

Siggas is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hayes gets back to full guard.
Hayes is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Siggas is controlling him.

Siggas is pushing down on Hayes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hayes is fighting to maintain full guard but Siggas has managed to sneak the leg through.

Siggas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hayes is just riding it out for now. Siggas eventually gives up the hold.

Siggas is taking a breather. Hayes says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
