Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Corey Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmie Jameson!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corey Jr lands with a nice combination. Jameson backs away looking to recover.
Corey Jr closes the distance and clinches up with Jameson, looking for a takedown. Corey Jr pushes Jameson against the cage but Jameson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Corey Jr blocks a jab.
Corey Jr ducks under a wild hook from Jameson.
Jameson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Jameson misses with a hook
and Corey Jr counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Corey Jr darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Corey Jr is looking to advance position but Jameson won't allow it.
Jameson is looking to escape.
Corey Jr looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Corey Jr lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Corey Jr is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jameson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Corey Jr.
Corey Jr takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Jameson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Corey Jr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jameson is trying to stand.

Jameson is staying active underneath Corey Jr, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jameson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Corey Jr has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Corey Jr is trying to control. Jameson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike Corey Jr wasn't doing enough on the ground.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Corey Jr.
Jameson loads up on a big right hand but Corey Jr slips the punch.
Jameson throws a right and a left that Corey Jr avoids nicely.
Jameson missing with a left hand there. Corey Jr was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Jameson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Corey Jr.
Corey Jr jabs Jameson to the body, keeping him at a distance.

and Corey Jr counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Corey Jr is nestled in close to Jameson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Corey Jr drops an elbow to the side of Jameson's head.
Corey Jr works his foot free and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Corey Jr with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Corey Jr lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Corey Jr is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Corey Jr fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Corey Jr is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jameson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jameson shrugs it off.
Corey Jr lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Corey Jr has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jameson's face.
BOOM! Corey Jr connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jameson squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Jameson looks gassed!

Corey Jr working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Jameson looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Corey Jr! Submission of the night perhaps?
