Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kelvin Redondo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Vandrax (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kelvin Redondo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brandon Vandrax!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Redondo avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Vandrax fails with the takedown
and Redondo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Redondo stuffs the takedown attempt from Vandrax. Vandrax gets slowly back to his feet.

Redondo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Vandrax wants to sweep but no luck.
Vandrax has a closed guard, preventing Redondo from standing up.
Redondo pushes down on Vandrax's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Redondo is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Redondo controlling the action here.

Redondo is trying to work for a kimura but Vandrax is defending well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Redondo works his way into side control.
Redondo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vandrax on the ground.
Vandrax manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Redondo tries to pass the half guard into mount. Vandrax knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Vandrax is looking to escape.

Redondo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Redondo is stalling here. Vandrax is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Redondo seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Vandrax has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Redondo being controlled for a moment.

Vandrax is trying to get an arm triangle but Redondo is defending well.
Vandrax moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Vandrax is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Redondo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Redondo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Redondo trying to work for an americana but Vandrax has managed to regain full guard.
Redondo missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Redondo has gone for a leg lock! Vandrax slips out almost immediately though and dives into Redondo's guard.

Vandrax gets to his feet - Redondo follows without any prompting.

Vandrax closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Vandrax lands in his opponent's guard.

Vandrax drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vandrax jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Vandrax wants to control from the top but Redondo keeps moving.
Vandrax looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Vandrax gets to his feet. Redondo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Vandrax throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Redondo's head.


It looks like Kelvin Redondo has been cut.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Vandrax.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Vandrax is defended easily by Redondo.
Vandrax is breathing heavily.

Vandrax clinches.
Redondo avoiding damage as Vandrax throws knees to the body.
Vandrax connects with a knee to the head.

Vandrax escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vandrax shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Redondo counters with a takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Redondo advances nicely into full mount.
Redondo putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Vandrax prevents Redondo from taking his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Redondo landing shots from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vandrax really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Redondo is trying to take his opponent's back.
Poor strikes thrown by Redondo there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Kelvin Redondo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Redondo trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Redondo is looking to stand but Redondo has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Redondo looking to control but Vandrax is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Redondo fails to move to back control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Brandon Vandrax will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The cut man is working on Kelvin Redondo's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Redondo with a lazy takedown attempt
and Vandrax counters with a flying knee that drops Redondo! Vandrax dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!
