The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mastadon shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Mastadon is pressing down on Romero's thigh, looking to free his foot. Romero is holding on for now.
Still in half guard, Mastadon seems content to control.
Mastadon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Romero escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mastadon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Romero tries to close the distance and clinch but Mastadon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Romero wants to get back to his feet but Mastadon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Mastadon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Romero tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Mastadon is in Romero's guard.
